So, today in art (Earth Day edition)...Kindergarten, 1st grade and I decorated the earth.
This blog is a compilation of conversations between my students, other teachers, the parents and I. My purpose is to illustrate the importance of art education in my local community. The arts allow the children’s spirit of their imaginations to soar and creates a deeper understanding of the world around them.

So, today in art...Student: After I am done coloring I go pick up my daughter. Me: You have a daughter. Student: Yes. Me: What's her name? Student: Cinderella. Me: Ok. Student: I have to pick her up from daycare. Me: Is she a good daughter? Student: Who Cynthia? She is ok. She cries a lot. Me: I thought her name was Cinderella? Student: It is. Me: But you just said Cynthia. Student: No I didn't. Me: Yes you did. Student: No I didn't. Me: I am done with the conversation.
So, today in art...Student: I want to go to your house. Me: And do what? Student: Play outside. Me: And? Student: Then my mommy will come pick me up and take me to work. Me: You have a job? Student: Yes. Me: Where? Student: Here. See, I am working right know coloring. Me: Oh. How is the pay? Student: Its good.
So, today in art...Student: I fell this weekend and broke my leg. Me: But you walk into class just fine. Student: No I didn't. I came in in a wheel chair. ME: No you didn't. Student: How do you know? Me: Cause I met you at the door, walked you to your seat and I have been sitting next to you the whole time. Student: Oh...well, I did fall.
