So, today in art...Student: Mr. Smith. We keep mixing yellow and green and it is not making blue. Me: Lol...and it won't. Student: Why? Me: Cause yellow and blue make green. Yellow and green make yellowish-green.
So, today in art...Student: Can I go to the bathroom? Me: Yes...but don't kick anybody while you're there. Student: Hmmmmmmmm........uhhhhhhh.......ok.
So, today in art...Student 1:  They were picking on us.  Student 2:  Well she was trying to tell us what to do.  Me:  Well stop picking on her and you stop telling people what to do.  You are girls and you need to stick together, not tear each other down. Girl power!  Who runs the world? Girls, Girls.  Student 1:  God.  Me:  What?  Student 1:  God rules the world.  Me:  Oh.  Ok that's true.  But my point is you should stick together.
So, today in art...Student:  Stop it!  Stop it!  Me:  Hey. What is going on over there?  Is someone bothering you.  Student:  No.  Me:  Then why are you making all that noise.  Student:  No reason.  Me:  Then stop it.  Stop it.

So, today in art...My talented 4th graders are drawing their self-portraits. Love them!!!

So, today in art...My kindergarten created clowns using an oval and their hand prints.

So, today in art...1st grade were making space ships using cones and cylinders that they constructed.  I teach some really amazing kids!!!!

So, today in art...Student: What do you think of my shark? Me: I like it but where are his clothes? Student: Why would a shark be wearing clothes?!?!?!?!? Me: Ummmm, well...isn't your starfish wearing...you know what? Never mind. I love it! Its your best shark ever!!! Student: Thanks!
So, today in art...Student: What do you think of my starfish? Me: What is he wearing? Student: Its a suit!! Me: Oh, ok....well, who am I to judge?
So, today in art....Me:  You guys look just alike.  Student 1:  We are wearing the same thing.  I can see how you would think that.  Student 2:  But we have different hair.  Me:  Oh...yeah.  Ok.  That is how I will be able to tell you apart in the future.  Other students:  Yeah Mr. Smith....look how different their hair is.  You should be able to tell the difference because of their hair.

The best part about this is that one of the students his Black and the other is Mexican and the only difference my kids can see is that one has longer hair than the other.
