This blog is a compilation of conversations between my students, other teachers, the parents and I. My purpose is to illustrate the importance of art education in my local community. The arts allow the children’s spirit of their imaginations to soar and creates a deeper understanding of the world around them.

So, today in art (Field Day edition)...Student: Mr. Smith. Are you gonna come with me to feed the cows. Me: What? When? Student: Now. I have this bucket and I am gonna take it to feed the cows. Me: The cows will not like that. It's water and glue solution we use to paper mache. Student: No its not. Its milk. Me: Why would you feed a cow milk. Student: I am not feeding the cows. I am feeding my baby pigs. The cows always bite me. Me: I am sorry. I have morning duty, I have to get ready for field day, so... I do not have time to feed the cows or pigs. Student: Fine...I will do it my self. Get the door for me.
